(Event Report)「FĐ」Lucho9 from the Americas Group Wins Dream Championship 2022! Next Year the Tournament will Decide the World's No. 1 Team!

Tokyo, Japan - December 27th, 2022 - KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced that its head-to-head football simulation game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team the winner of the worldwide Dream Championship 2022 tournament finals held on December 11th and 12th. Out of all the competitors from around the world, 「FĐ」Lucho9 from the America Group rose to become the new champion!

At the end of the tournament, we announced that next year's Dream Championship will be held as a tournament to decide the world's No. 1 team.

Final Tournament Event Report

The final tournament was made up of 7 players who won the final regional qualifiers and 7 top rated in-app players for a total of 14 players. Players from all over the world including Japan, Hong Kong, the United States, France, Colombia, Singapore, and Thailand competed online.

Live Commentary from Streamers Around the World

Continuing from last year, streamers were brought on board to livestream the finals alongside the official live streams. Streamers from all over the world streamed live in their respective languages simultaneously with the Dream Championship 2022 finals.

America Group 「FĐ」Lucho9 Becomes the World No.1 Player!

A total of 14 players who won the final regional qualifiers and the top rated in-app players selected by the rating system introduced from this tournament clashed in the final tournament.

In the final match, at the 43rd minute mark of the second half, 「FĐ」Lucho9's Ryoma Hino launched a Jumping Dragon Header that Leone Nookata's Hernandez could not stop, and 「FĐ」Lucho9 scored one goal, and the match ended as it was. The curtain closed on the finals with one of the highest level matches in the history of the Dream Championship between Leone Nogata, the top 4 rated player, and 「FĐ」Lucho9, the 1st place Americas Group winner and new champion.

There was a video letter from Yoichi Takahashi, the original author of "Captain Tsubasa", at the end of the tournament. He had a message to the competitors and presented a special new illustration as the first place prize.

In addition to the illustration by Yoichi Takahashi, 「FĐ」Lucho9 received other rewards such as an exclusive in-game badge and championship trophy.

Director Uehara made an appearance at the end of the tournament. After thanking the players and those involved in the tournament, he announced special news in development for Dream Championship.

Dream Championship 2023 was announced and this time the tournament will be held worldwide to determine the number one team in the world.

About Dream Championship 2022

The Dream Championship is an official tournament for Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team hosted by KLab Inc. for players 18 years old and above. Originally held in 2019, this tournament was designed in response to the players desire to face off against strong opponents. The tournament uses the mobile game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

This year marks its fourth installment which will be held exclusively online to decide who is the number one player in the world.

The top players from the Online Final Regional Qualifiers and the 7 top-rated players in the application calculated at the end of August 2022 will compete in the Finals (single-elimination tournament format) to decide this year's champion.
