"Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team" Dream Championship Hong Kong Qualifier Details Announced

Tokyo, Japan - July 17, 2019 - KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced that its head-to-head football simulation game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team will hold the Hong Kong Qualifier of its first-ever worldwide Dream Championship tournament on Sunday, August 4 at Hong Kong's CGA eSports Stadium.

The Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team Dream Championship 2019 tournament is a global competition to decide the top Captain Tsubasa player in the entire world. Four offline qualifiers will select one champion each, in addition to 12 champions selected from online competitions.

Hong Kong Qualifier Details


For the Hong Kong Qualifier of the worldwide Dream Championship 2019, live commentary will be done by KLab Games Station members and streamed to global platforms. 14 players who applied beforehand via online form and 2 players who register onsite will be selected to participate in the competition. Onsite registration begins at 12:00 pm and lasts until 12:45 pm. The champion of the Hong Kong Qualifier will win a trip to Tokyo to participate in the Dream Championship 2019 Finals this fall. A roundtrip flight from the finalist's home country to Japan and hotel costs for at least two nights will be covered.

How to Watch

Local fans in Hong Kong are welcome to attend the championship in person as spectators, and it will also be livestreamed via the URLs below.

Spectators will be asked to show that they have Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team installed and open on their smartphone screens upon entry to the venue. Priority for seats will be given to those who won them via the advance lottery, and lottery winners will also receive Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team merch. Depending on the number of prospective spectators, not everyone may be able to enter, and we ask for your understanding in advance.

Onsite Registration

Two players who register onsite will be selected to participate in the competition. Onsite registration begins at 12:00 pm and lasts until 12:45 pm (UTC+8). The lottery to select the two players will be held after onsite registration closes.

Offline Fan Meeting

After the Hong Kong Qualifier is over, there will be a special fan meeting that all attendees are welcome to join. There will be a talk show with the Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team dev team, a KLab Sound Team mini live performance, and a chance to face off in a live match in the game against KLab members. The festivities are expected to wrap up by 8 pm (UTC+8).

Winning Shot Campaign


Similar to the campaign held during the Tokyo Qualifier, there will be a Winning Shot campaign held for both the Japanese and global versions of the game leading up to the Hong Kong Qualifier. This will be everyone's chance to guess which player will score the winning shot and win in-game Dreamballs. Players will use the Twitter hashtag #GetDreamballsHK (for the global version) to tweet their predictions for the Captain Tsubasa character who will score the winning goal in the final match of the Hong Kong Qualifier. Predictions will be accepted from Friday, July 19 until 11:59 pm on Thursday, July 25 (UTC+9), and the results will be announced during the event. On both versions of the game, everyone will win 30 Dreamballs if over 283 people guess the correct player who shoots the winning goal.

Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team Dream Championship 2019

Following the Dubai Qualifier (April 13 at the KLabGames booth stage of the Middle East Film & Comic Con), the Tokyo Qualifier (June 15 at the Japan Football Museum), and the Paris Qualifier (July 6 at the KLabGames booth stage of Japan Expo), the Hong Kong Qualifier will crown the final offline qualifier champion. All 16 finalists chosen both online and offline will receive trips to Japan to compete in the September 14 finals in Tokyo.

Prizes

The 16 finalists will receive an in-game badge, and the winner will receive an in-game badge, as well as a Dream Championship trophy and an original illustration by Yoichi Takahashi, the creator of the Captain Tsubasa manga.
