KLab Subsidiary, KLab Entertainment Hosts First Ever “Classic Rock Awards” in Japan

Held annually in the United Kingdom and the United States since 2005, the Classic Rock Awards are the authoritative awards ceremony for the world of rock. The decision to host the awards in Asia for the first time in Tokyo in 2016, was announced at the Classic Rock Awards 2015 ceremony held at the Roundhouse in London on November 11, 2015. During the event, Yoshiki from X Japan performed a moving rendition of Queen’s masterpiece “Bohemian Rhapsody” to celebrate this historic occasion.

The Classic Rock Awards 2016 in Japan will be co-hosted by KLab Entertainment, TeamRock, and Parallel Contemporary Music (PCM).

Being much more than an awards ceremony, the Tokyo Classic Rock Awards 2016 is a two-part event which also features live performances by the award recipients. The winners are all authentic rock superstars, or legends who have achieved fame from all around the globe*. The second half of the ceremony centers on a jam session featuring a revolving set of award winners. The event offers attendees the opportunity to witness live performances of classic rock favorites performed by one-of-a-kind ensembles that would not be possible anywhere else.

The Classic Rock Awards are closely monitored by rock fans the world over. Next year’s Tokyo ceremony is expected to bring in attendees from around the world, and plans for live international television broadcasts and other global media coverage.

* Winners (guests) will be selected by the Classic Rock Awards Panel of Judges in June 2016.
