KLab Adds KPI Reporting System to KLabGames Software Development Kit
KLab Inc.(TSE Prime Market: 3656)
Tokyo, Japan ‐ August 19, 2015 - KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced today the addition of a KPI reporting system to the KLabGames Software Development Kit (KG SDK), its mobile game development tool designed for use by KLab’s publishing partners and co-developers.
KG SDK Overview
Based on the concept “user-friendly for engineers,” the KG SDK is a software development toolkit that offers easy access to all of the functions common to every kind of game. Functions required by all previously-developed games are stored in the KG SDK’s library. Utilizing this tool helps to simplify the game development process, eliminating the need for redundant functions and allowing game designers to focus on creating functions which are unique to new games. With this advanced technology, game designers can expect shortened schedules, reduced costs, and improved quality control throughout the game development process.
The level of difficulty involved in mobile game development is increasing every year. Game creators are also faced with rising development costs and longer periods of time required to design competitive mobile games. As a strategic measure to overcome these challenges, KLab has focused on designing the KG SDK and the games themselves in parallel. Most of the libraries and systems available in the SDK are already in operation at KLab.
KLab Development Partners
In addition to developing and publishing mobile games, KLab has also been responsible for organizing its own promotional activities. As part of their future business model, KLab will publish and conduct promotional activities for games which have been both developed by and co-developed with business partners, as well as games created in-house.
In an effort to increase partnerships with co-developers, KLab has offered a portion of the KG SDK technology to their development partners and has unveiled plans to offer more functions in the future. More information on the functions currently available can be found on the company website (currently only available in Japanese).
KPI Reporting System
The KPI Reporting System is designed to summarize and report the different types of KPIs available. In addition to improving the quality of games, organizing events, and maximizing the effectiveness of ads, KPI referencing capabilities are an essential asset for securing success in the mobile gaming industry. For the purpose of improving game quality in particular, knowing which KPI to view and what information to extract from it is valued as important intellectual property for the company. The KPI Reporting System is essentially a compilation of KLab’s development experience and expertise.
Using a system which pools all of the KPIs necessary for each game leads to reduced development costs for games, removing the need for costly alternatives that require individual games to be tracked and recorded separately.
KPIs Acquired Through the KPI Reporting System
Building on their expertise in the mobile gaming business, KLab now tracks other KPIs in addition to the most commonly used KPIs listed below.
- Virtual currency consumed (per hour, daily, monthly, etc.)
- Virtual currency purchased (per hour, daily, monthly, etc.)
- Number of active users (daily, monthly, etc.)
- Number of installs (per hour, daily, monthly, etc.)
- Number of users making In-app purchases (per hour, daily, monthly, etc.)
- Percentage of In-app purchases (daily, monthly, etc.)
