Apology and Report Regarding Spam Emails Sent Through Unauthorized Access to KLab ID

KLab Inc.(TSE Prime Market: 3656)

We have confirmed that the KLab ID service (hereinafter referred to as "service") provided by our company has been illegally accessed externally. Due to unauthorized access, an unsolicited email was sent from this service to the email addresses of an unspecified number of people who are not KLab ID members. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused to our customers. We have not confirmed any leakage of customer information entrusted to us.

1. Overview of Unauthorized Access and Company Response
From July 21st to 22nd, 2021 JST, we detected a suspicious mass access to our service URL which sends new member registration emails. As part of the service, users must register an email address when registering as a new member and a confirmation email is automatically sent to the specified address. Due to the above, a large number of confirmation emails (spam emails) were sent to the email addresses of an unspecified number of people who are not KLab ID members.

*Period of Suspicious Activity (JST)
・ 07/21/2021 around 22:00 ~ 07/22/2021 12:42
*Number of Confirmation Emails Sent Through Suspicious Activity
・ Approximately 520,000
*Areas Confirmation Emails Were Sent Through Suspicious Activity
・ Japan and Overseas

In a situation concerning large amounts of unauthorized access such as this, it is probable that a third party, and not the original email owners, somehow obtained and used the emails mechanically to access the service URL.

In response to this unauthorized access, we have already strengthened the security of the URL function in question. In addition, we have not confirmed any leakage of customer information in the KLab ID system provided by our company due to this matter. We will endeavor to prevent future incidents so that our customers can use our services with peace of mind.

2. Request to Customers
If you receive an email from noreply@id.klabgames.net regarding registration that you do not recognize, please delete the email and do not click the URL in the text.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern that has been caused to our customers.
