Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Yoshiki of X Japan Officially Join Classic Rock Awards 2016
Tokyo, Japan – November 8, 2016 – KLab, a leader in online mobile games, announced today that its subsidiary KLab Entertainment Inc., in partnership with TeamRock.com, has revealed that Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Yoshiki of X Japan will officially join the Classic Rock Awards 2016 + Live Performance to be held live in Tokyo for the first time ever on Friday, November 11.
Well known for his artistic contributions the world over, Yoshiki is the drummer and pianist of one of Japan’s most famous metal bands of all time, X Japan. In addition to his work as a lyricist and composer, the multitalented artist is also known for his work as a music producer and creator. Yoshiki delighted the audience of the Classic Rock Awards 2015 held last year in London’s Roundhouse as the opening act for the evening, performing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and X Japan’s “Without You.” Currently on an international classical concert tour with shows in Osaka, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and New York’s Carnegie Hall, Yoshiki will appear at the Classic Rock Awards to perform on the piano on Friday, November 11.
Joe Perry gained international acclaim for his work as lead guitarist of the US rock legend, Aerosmith. In addition to his work with the 150 million album-selling band, he also performs in the Hollywood Vampires alongside founders Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper. Perry is slated to perform a jam session with Johnny Depp and Tommy Henriksen at this year’s event.
The final lineup for the first Japan-held Classic Rock Awards 2016 will star Johnny Depp, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Yoshiki, Joe Perry, Cheap Trick, Joe Elliot, Phil Collen, Richie Sambora, Orianthi, Slot Machine, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, BAND-MAID, and Tesla. The night also features the once-in-a-lifetime chance to see Jeff Beck’s latest band formed exclusively for this year’s event play live in concert. As an additional surprise, Rudolf Schenker, guitarist and founding member of Germany’s world-famous rock band Scorpions, has announced plans to perform live as a special guest at this year’s event.
